NEC Indonesia Supports AEON Mall Tanjung Barat to Create a Safe and Pleasant Shopping Experience
Jakarta, 25 November 2021 – NEC Indonesia is supporting PT AEON Mall Indonesia in realizing a safe and pleasant one-stop shopping experience at their new mall in Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta by implementing a fully integrated, smart online order system and Food Court System.
AEON MALL Tanjung Barat is the fourth shopping center in Indonesia managed directly by PT AEON Mall Indonesia. A partial opening took place on 18 November 2021 just as the government is gradually easing crowd management policies.
In conjunction with the opening of AEON Mall Tanjung Barat, AEON Mall Indonesia introduced a new contactless shopping concept for users of the AEON MALL MOBILE app. Through the app, visitors can order food, use their e-vouchers and access location-based Beacon services across all AEON Malls in Indonesia.
For AEON Mall Tanjung Barat, NEC Indonesia provided a fully integrated, smart online order system, powered by Integrated E-Money Solution (IEMS) and POS technologies for the food court. This system has enhanced the convenience, efficiency and security levels of online transactions while allowing the mall operators a better view of their finances.
“Since the pandemic and even before, AEON Malls have always ensured a clean environment for a safe and pleasant shopping experience for customers,” said Mr. Koichiro Seno, General Manager of PT AEON Mall Tanjung Barat. “We are maximizing health protocols in preventing the spread of Covid-19 by utilizing the latest technologies to create a comfortable and seamless shopping experience to meet the expectations of people who have been waiting for the opening of AEON Mall Tanjung Barat," he continued.

NEC’s Online Order Food Court System is versatile and sophisticated. A high performance POS system that is energy-efficient, it is also easy to maintain with its tool-free component replacement design, which is compact and elegant. Additionally, the IEMS is a prepaid e-money system, thus reducing the implementation cost and deployment times. This system will reduce queues at the cash register as well as increase sales per customer and the number of repeat visitors. It will also help drive effective promotions through mobile apps.
AEON Mall Tanjung Barat is a six-floor shopping center with a floor area of about 97,000 m2.
Along with this opening, AEON Mall Tanjung Barat is also intensifying their "Environment, Social, and Government" campaign to help preserve the environment through a waste recycling program. In various corners of the mall, special waste baskets are placed for visitors to use. The waste collected will then be sorted and recycled.
The official opening of AEON Mall Tanjung Barat will be in 2022.
